Position:
Mental Health Counselor
Location: East Harlem, New York
Job Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders

Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans

Conduct therapy sessions and facilitate group therapy activities

Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records

Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
-
Monitor patients for any changes in behavior or symptoms
-
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
Experience:
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a mental health setting
-
Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
-
Knowledge of therapy techniques and interventions
-
Familiarity with ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis and billing purposes
-
Experience in providing care for individuals with PTSD, including trauma-informed care approaches
-
Knowledge of dance therapy as an alternative therapeutic modality
-
Ability to collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes and treatment effectiveness
-
Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
-
Experience in child and family counseling, addressing the unique needs of young patients and their families
-
Familiarity with addiction counseling principles and techniques for individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders

Understanding of chronic pain management strategies and counseling approaches for individuals experiencing chronic pain
