Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one and small-group support to adults with developmental disabilities in community settings. DSPs assist participants in achieving their individual goals while promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and assist with daily activities. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and hygiene
- Support medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Facilitate resident engagement through recreational activities and social interactions to promote mental health
- Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including progress notes and incident reports
Requirements
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist participants with community outings and recreational activities.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a strong plus
- Provide behavioral support using positive intervention techniques.
- Support participants in achieving IPP goals.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, families, and regional center staff.
- Encourage social interaction and community engagement.
- Ensure participant health and safety at all times.
- Document daily progress notes accurately and on time.
- Assist with transportation to and from community activities as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all agency policies.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
