Schedule: Full-Time Day Porter & Part-Time Night Porter Positions Available
Hatfield Cleaning Company is seeking dependable, detail-oriented Janitorial Technicians to provide professional cleaning services at two commercial facilities in Columbia, Missouri. We are currently hiring for a full-time daytime porter position and a part-time evening porter position. Both roles require individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and professional work environments while working independently.
Available Position AssignmentsQuarterdeck Office Building (Day Porter)
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- One-hour lunch break
This position supports a three-story office building occupied by University of Missouri administrative staff and executives. The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the facility throughout the workday while responding to routine requests from building occupants and management.
A.P. Green Laboratory (Night Porter)
- Monday–Friday
- Any time after 6:00 PM and before 6:00 AM
This position is responsible for cleaning a laboratory facility after business hours. Attention to detail is essential, especially with floor care. Employees must ensure debris, dust, and hair are removed from corners and underneath movable furniture to maintain laboratory cleanliness standards.
Duties
Quarterdeck Day Porter
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance throughout the building during business hours.
- Routinely clean, disinfect, and stock all restrooms.
- Replenish paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and other restroom supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect employee breakrooms and lunch areas.
- Dust and wipe desks, counters, tables, windowsills, and other surfaces in common areas.
- Touch-clean elevators, elevator buttons, handrails, and high-touch surfaces.
- Clean lobby glass, entry doors, and maintain an inviting entrance.
- Bale cardboard each morning using facility equipment.
- Respond to additional cleaning requests from the customer throughout the day.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
A.P. Green Night Porter
- Vacuum carpets and entry mats.
- Sweep, mop, and disinfect hard-surface flooring.
- Thoroughly remove dust, debris, and hair from corners and edges.
- Move rolling chairs, desks, and other movable furniture to clean underneath.
- Clean and disinfect offices, laboratories, common areas, and restrooms.
- Dust furniture, countertops, windowsills, cabinets, and other surfaces.
- Clean interior glass and entry doors as needed.
- Empty trash and replace liners.
- Restock restroom supplies.
- Maintain janitorial storage areas in a neat and organized condition.
- Follow all laboratory cleaning procedures and company safety policies.
Requirements
- Janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical cleaning tasks including bending, standing, walking, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to move lightweight office furniture, rolling chairs, and equipment while cleaning.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
University of Missouri Employment Requirements
To work at these facilities, employees must meet all University of Missouri access requirements, including:
- Successfully pass all required background screening and University vetting procedures.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a University of Missouri security badge.
- Complete all required medical clearances before receiving facility access.
- Provide immunization records and any other required health documentation.
- Maintain badge eligibility throughout employment.
- Comply with all University of Missouri policies and security requirements.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
