Global Peace Leadership Early Learning Center in Rice Village is an early learning center for children from 6 weeks old to Pre-Kindergarten. We seek to hire high-energy teachers with a strong background in early childhood education and development. We are looking for someone flexible, creative, energetic, warm, and nurturing. This is a full-time, year-round position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach children in a safe and nurturing environment
- Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the children, utilizing early childhood best practices
- Have knowledge and experience with implementing nationally recognized early childhood curriculum (The Creative Curriculum, or similar) as well as Minimum Standards Guidelines
- Encourage children's development in the areas of building self- confidence, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
- Build positive, informative, and communicative relationships with parents and employees
Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or Childhood Development preferred
- Applicants with CDA certification/and or sufficient experience will also be considered
- 2+ years' experience in a quality Early Childhood program
- DFPS background clearance
- Maintain certification in First Aid and CPR
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Highly professional and dependable
- Upbeat personality with a friendly demeanor
- Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work until closing
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
