We are a new electrical services company launching in South Florida, owned and operated by an electrical engineer with 20+ years of experience in building electrical systems. We hold a passing score on the Florida EC examination. Our services will include generator installation and maintenance, EV charger installation, commercial electrical maintenance, and residential electrical work.
We are seeking a Florida-licensed Electrical Contractor to serve as our Qualifying Agent, as required by Florida law (Chapter 489, Part II). The owner will personally perform or directly supervise all field operations.
This is NOT a field technician job. You can keep your current employment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Serve as the Qualifying Agent registered with DBPR for our electrical contractor license
- Be available by phone/text for occasional technical questions during business hours
- Review and sign permit applications when required (submitted electronically)
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify compliance (estimated 2-4 visits per month)
- Review service records to ensure work meets NEC and Florida Building Code standards
You do NOT need to manage employees, run routes, or perform hands-on work.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Florida Certified Electrical Contractor (EC) license
- Clean license record — no active DBPR violations
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Willingness to be listed as Qualifying Agent on our DBPR business license
- Available by phone during business hours
- Ability to visit Palm Beach or Broward County 2-4 times per month
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Currently employed elsewhere and seeking additional income
- Semi-retired or retired electrician with active EC license
- Independent EC contractor open to a consulting arrangement
- Electrical inspector, project manager, or estimator with active EC license
COMPENSATION
$500 - $1,000 per month flat fee, paid as independent contractor (1099)
