This is an on-call position that could fill in for GYN, Radiation or Surgical Oncology.

Position Summary: The Medical Assistant at WMCC is responsible for assisting nurses, providers and other staff with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasking.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant program completion and certified or registered as an MA required.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Previous experience in health care environment highly desirable. Must have or be able to obtain BLS certification. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. Excellent interpersonal skill to interact effectively with management, employees, peers and the public. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to use critical thinking to interpret, comprehend and complete complicated and detailed projects in a timely manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently. High degree of integrity to keep confidential all information related to WMCC patients, employees, physicians, and institution related information. Ability to accept and apply feedback.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift general office supplies or equipment occasionally. Ability to complete a one and two person lift to assist patients. Requires sitting/standing for long period. Manual dexterity required to use computer keyboard or other office equipment. Excellent visual and auditory acuity necessary.
