Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for a male client requiring assistance with daily activities. He can stand with assistance but you need to be strong for this role to help him stand (either a strong female or a male). He wears a diaper and you need to have experience providing this type of care. It would be ideal if you have a car and can take him to Dr appointments as well.
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of an elderly man with dementia. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Support clients with memory care needs by implementing specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques, creating a safe environment, and engaging them in meaningful activities.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe and hygienic living space.
- Able to provide safe and reliable transportation to appointments and for running errands.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a trusting relationship that enhances overall well-being.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care, home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require dementia/memory care.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Must have a California Driver's License with a reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance!!!!!
- Flexibility to work live-in shifts or part-time hours based on client needs; prior home & community care experience is highly valued. Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- At least one year of caregiving experience
- Experience with elder care, fall-risk clients, or hands-on ADL care preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Valid car insurance
- Clean DMV record with no more than two moving violations
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Registered with the Department of Social Services, including Live Scan fingerprinting
- COVID vaccination
