American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a hospital Women's Health & OB Services unit, requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Work in a Women's Health & OB Services unit within a 131-bed hospital designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
-
Unit includes 12 LDRP rooms, 2 triage rooms, 2 ORs, and a 10-bed Level II NICU, averaging 60–80 births per month
-
Patient population is primarily lower-risk, 32 weeks and above, with diagnoses including hypertension, gestational diabetes, elevated BMI, substance use, and postpartum care
-
RN provides continuous care through post-delivery in the same LDRP room, including post-partum transition through discharge for both mom and baby
-
Patient ratios: 1:1 laboring, 1:2 active labor, 1:3 couplets

Specialized skills utilized include cervical exams, amnioinfusions, epidural management, fetal monitoring, IV starts/management, Pitocin administration, baby catching, APGAR scoring, and basic breastfeeding education

EMR: Epic (preferred); IV pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; Monitors: QS Centricity

12-hour night shifts (0645–1915 days / 1845–0715 nights), 36 hours per week
-
Weekend rotation required every 3rd to 4th weekend

On-call: 6–7 four-hour blocks per 6-week schedule period

No floating required

Active WI or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring

Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in cervical exams, amnioinfusions, epidural management, fetal monitoring, IV management, Pitocin, APGAR, and basic breastfeeding education

Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from delivery transition through discharge for mother and baby

Experience with post-women's surgeries preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration

Candidate's DOB, last 4 of SSN, and middle name or initial required for consideration

Departmental support includes 2 techs, a charge nurse who takes patients, phlebotomy, 24/7 NNP, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist, L&D anesthesia always on call, OBGYNs on call, and a lactation consultant available during the day who meets with every patient prior to discharge

Orientation consists of a general facility orientation (NEO) followed by 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation depending on comfort level

Schedule is set by the Lead RN on a 6-week cycle; travelers receive their schedule 2 weeks before it begins, with up to 7 days of RTO approvable

Holiday rotation is required on an every-other basis

Scrubs are provided by the facility; parking is free

A clinical interview with the manager is required prior to placement
