We're looking for a Mortgage Manager who is passionate about helping members achieve homeownership while leading a high-performing mortgage team. This role is responsible for overseeing mortgage lending operations, managing the real estate loan portfolio, and ensuring exceptional service throughout the lending process.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the mortgage lending and servicing process.
- Interview applicants, review financial information, and evaluate mortgage applications.
- Oversee loan underwriting, approvals, and compliance with regulations and credit union policies.
- Manage secondary market activities, construction loans, and bridge loan programs.
- Ensure accurate mortgage servicing, including payments, taxes, insurance, and rate adjustments.
- Support first-time homebuyer and low-to-moderate income lending programs.
- Provide guidance and financial counseling to members throughout the home lending process.
- Promote credit union products and services while delivering exceptional member service.
- Maintain reporting requirements, annual statements, and required tax documentation.
- Lead, coach, and develop mortgage department staff.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or additional education in finance, banking, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of mortgage lending or related financial services experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending practices, underwriting, and servicing.
- Experience handling complex member mortgage inquiries and loan scenarios.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and member service skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking software systems.
