San Diego Humane Society is hiring Part-Time Seasonal Wildlife Admissions Associates for our San Diego Project Wildlife Team!

Answers all guest inquiries via phone, online and/or in person at the Wildlife Center. Responds to intakes coming to the front door throughout the day, ensuring regulations and protocols are followed.
Safely handles and identifies injured and orphaned wild animals upon intake; safely transfers and delivers to a wildlife technician for exam and treatment
Ensures the correct medical intake information is recorded, assists public with completing intake forms and educates as needed.
Assists with maintenance, cleanliness and supervision of the Wildlife Food Prep Kitchen and with the Daily Food Prep Routines as needed
Assists supervisor with maintaining facility through daily sweeping, mopping and wiping of counters/equipment and general facilities cleanliness. Maintains front of house appearance for public-facing areas.
High school graduate or equivalent; advanced learning certificate(s) or degree in related field preferred.
Prior experience working with animals in a shelter, kennel, vet clinic, wildlife rehabilitation center or volunteer environment is preferred.
Bilingual skills a plus; bilingual-Spanish preferred.
A general knowledge of rehabilitation, conservation and federal/state wildlife laws preferred.
In accordance with CDC and ACIP guidelines, must be willing to follow appropriate rabies pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) vaccine and titer check recommendations.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.
Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus. This position works approximately 24 hours per week. This position will begin in March 2026 and will last until approximately September 2026.
Pay: Starting range is between $20.00 - $22.25 per hour and is eligible for an hourly bilingual-Spanish premium.
The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
