Medical Receptionist opening in a single physician internal medicine office
Duties include the following:
- Answer multi-line phones, directing caller to appropirate party or handle the caller's needs yourself
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Process payments from patients co-pays, balances, and uninsured visits
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients
- Maintain hard copy of patients records
- Complete prior authorizations radiology and prescriptions
- Process medical records requests
- Handle incoming fax queue
Qualifications:
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage a variety of tasks effectively
- Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person
- Interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients who may be upset or stressed
- Prioritize tasks based on importance
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years experience as a Medical Receptionist (Preferred)
Business Hours:
Hours of operation are Monday, 9-5 Tuesday, 9-4 Wednesday, Off Thursday, 9-5 and Friday 9-1
It will be about 28 - 30 hours per week, weekends off.
