Matt Talbot Recovery Services of Horizon Healthcare, Inc. is recruiting for Full/Part-Time Registered Nurses (RNs) at our residential treatment facility, First Step Community Recovery Center, home to the Milwaukee County Secure Emergency Detoxification Program. First Step provides short-term residential Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) detox services to clients from multiple counties throughout the state.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The RN is the healthcare professional responsible for ensuring that all requisite professional healthcare services are coordinated and provided to clients as called-for in each client's plan of care. The RN directly supervises all support staff on given shift, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), and other medical assistants.
Primary Duties Include:
- Responsible for administering safe and effective nursing care and assuming clinical responsibility for all clients
- Organize and prioritize/re-prioritize nursing care in response to multiple changing client needs and client census
- Facilitate smooth flow of client/staff activity
- Participate in the intake process for presenting clients and make admission determination with approval of the Medical Director or Advanced Nurse Practitioner
- Perform routine rounds on all clients with timely interventions
- Perform, supervise and delegate direct client care as appropriate according to Matt Talbot policy and procedures
- Participate and provide nursing input into appropriate patient care meetings
- Facilitate quality care delivery through a close, collaborative working effort with the Medical Director and Nurse Practitioners
- Situational task delegation to LPN's and Staff Assistants to meet client's needs
- Maintain electronic medical records with appropriate documentation
- Develop and maintain expertise in health management of the chemically dependent client
- Serve as a resource person for staff on health issues and physical implications of chemical dependency
- Conduct client education to promote, motivate and encourage an ongoing recovery program or process
