About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Night Shift Production Supervisor to lead our night shift production crew at Nutlicious Hazelnut Spreads. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing a crew during night operations, ensuring premium hazelnut spread products are mixed, packaged, and handled according to strict quality, food safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate is a working supervisor who leads by example, maintains high standards during off-shift hours, and thrives in a small-team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise, coach, and support a crew of Mixer / Packaging Line Attendants on the night shift.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure both team members stay productive and safe.
- Provide on-the-job training, feedback, and cross-training between mixing and packaging functions.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused, and team-oriented environment during night hours.
Production Operations
- Oversee and actively participate in mixing and packaging processes to meet nightly production targets.
- Weigh/measure ingredients, monitor product consistency, temperatures, and mixing times.
- Operate and monitor packaging lines, perform quality inspections, and handle changeovers.
- Ensure accurate production records, documentation, and material usage.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, allergen controls, and all food safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
- Conduct quality checks and address any issues immediately.
- Report equipment problems, quality concerns, or safety incidents to the General Manager.
- Lead by example in following all company policies and safety procedures.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste during night operations.
- Support smooth handoff to the day shift.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager on production needs and process improvements.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of supervisory or strong lead experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or production (nut processing preferred).
- Hands-on experience with mixing, packaging equipment, and food safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and quality requirements.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shift.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and good communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift experience is a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Night shift hours: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday – Thursday.
- Ability to stand for long periods (10-hour shifts) and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Work in a food manufacturing environment (cool/humid conditions possible).
- Exposure to loud noise — hearing protection required.
- Work around allergens (hazelnuts, etc.) and heavy-duty machinery.
