The Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shop Foreman to lead our production team. You will oversee daily operations, manage workflow from blueprint to finished product, and ensure our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a working foreman role, meaning you will split your time between hands-on building, training, and shop management.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management: Read and interpret shop drawings/blueprints to plan cutting, machining, and assembly sequences.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor our shop crew. Assign daily tasks and provide feedback to improve skills and output.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished pieces meet strict quality standards and company specifications before they leave the shop floor.
- Safety & Maintenance: Enforce safety protocols, ensure OSHA compliance, and maintain equipment in optimal working condition.
- Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, streamline production, and manage inventory of materials, lumber, and hardware.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fine woodworking, cabinet making, or architectural millwork.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading or managing a production/manufacturing team (2+ years).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern woodworking machinery (table saws, shapers, edgebanders) Trello, Excel and Google Drive.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, and shop staff.
