Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced (8+ years) Lead HVAC/R Technician to oversee and execute complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration projects. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate HVAC/R service operations, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of systems such as air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise execution of projects.
- Supervise field service activities, providing guidance and mentorship to technicians while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Perform equipment repairs using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment; conduct mechanical diagnostics to identify issues efficiently.
- Oversee plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and refrigeration setups; ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems across multiple sites; coordinate with property managers for scheduled servicing.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, schematics updates, and safety logs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields with a strong background in construction or property maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, plumbing, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Mechanical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters; experience with welding and equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Field service experience with a focus on air conditioning systems, ammonia refrigeration units, and complex mechanical installations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with driver requirements preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
