Are you passionate about authentic Montessori education and inspiring young children to become confident, independent learners? Countryside Montessori Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and experienced Lead Montessori Teacher to join our dedicated team.
For over 30 years, Countryside Montessori Academy has provided an authentic Montessori education in a warm, respectful, and child-centered environment. We are looking for an educator who shares our commitment to excellence and believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn through exploration and discovery.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori classroom environment.
- Develop and present Montessori lessons that meet each child's individual developmental needs.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom community.
- Build strong relationships with families through ongoing communication.
- Ensure compliance with Montessori philosophy and all Florida licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow educators to provide the highest quality educational experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Montessori Certification (AMS, AMI, MACTE, or equivalent) preferred.
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate and/or CDA with Montessori credentials considered.
- Experience leading a Montessori classroom.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Passion for child-led learning and whole-child development.
Florida DCF Requirements
Applicants must meet or be eligible to meet all Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing requirements, including:
- Level 2 Background Screening and fingerprint clearance.
- Completion of Florida DCF Child Care Introductory Training (40-hour requirement) or qualifying educational exemption.
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain before employment if required by the facility).
- Completion of mandatory child abuse and neglect reporting, health and safety, and other required DCF training.
- Ability to meet annual in-service training requirements and maintain all required credentials.
