Overview
Robles Ranch Mental Health is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate Program Director (LCSW or equivalent) to lead our adult inpatient and residential mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) programs. This leadership role is ideal for a clinically grounded professional who excels in both operational and clinical oversight and is committed to delivering high-quality, ethical, and person-centered care.
The Program Director will oversee daily program operations, supervise multidisciplinary clinical teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous program improvement. This role is central to maintaining a structured, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment that supports stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness for adults with complex mental health and co-occurring substance use needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for inpatient and residential mental health and SUD programs serving adults.
- Oversee clinical programming, therapeutic services, and daily operations to ensure quality, consistency, and safety.
- Supervise and support multidisciplinary teams, including licensed clinicians, counselors, nursing staff, and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with California licensing requirements, accreditation standards, documentation expectations, and clinical best practices.
- Develop, implement, and refine program policies, procedures, and workflows to support effective care delivery and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with medical providers, nursing leadership, and executive leadership to ensure integrated, coordinated care.
- Monitor program performance, census, staffing needs, and resource utilization.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision to build and sustain high-performing teams.
- Support a therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based practices.
- Serve as a liaison with families, referral sources, community partners, and external stakeholders as appropriate.
Experience & Qualifications
- Active California LCSW or equivalent clinical license required (LMFT, LPCC, PsyD, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in inpatient or residential mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment programs.
- Strong understanding of adult mental health, co-occurring disorders, and levels of care in a residential setting.
- Proven experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams in a structured or fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance, licensing standards, and clinical documentation requirements.
- Experience with program development, quality improvement, and operational oversight is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance clinical integrity and operational demands.
