Charles Mayer is a family-owned luxury retailer founded in Indianapolis in 1840 — the exclusive retailer in the state for some of the world's finest European china, crystal, flatware, and home décor. Our Wedding Registry is a meaningful channel in the business, and we're looking for someone who can take pride in and have a passion for this category.
Client Relationships
- Schedule and lead registry consultations in-person or via FaceTime
- Guide couples in building coordinated place settings using color, design, and product knowledge
- Maintain ongoing communication with couples, families, and guests from first appointment through post-wedding follow-up
- Schedule post-wedding appointments to balance place settings, apply store credit, and place completion orders
Registry Management
- Maintain accurate knowledge of active registries — items, special orders, shipping preferences
- Process incoming orders (online, in-store) promptly and with precision
- Hold china orders until after the wedding to balance place settings — then place the order
- Manage special orders and backordered items; communicate lead times to couples
- Create a weekly update for staff listing upcoming showers, weddings, and any procedural notes
Vendor Relations
- Communicate regularly with vendor reps by phone and email
- Stay current on brand news — discontinuations, price changes, new introductions — and alert couples when their selections are affected
- Place and track vendor orders tied to specific registries

- Exceptional organization and attention to detail across many active registries
- Warm, proactive communication style — couples should always feel looked after
- Strong design eye for coordinating place settings and table presentations

This role can start as a flexible part-time position that can expand into full-time within a month of training. We can also offer performance bonuses tied to registry sales growth.
