Position Summary: An established and growing general contractor is seeking a highly experienced Superintendent to oversee the successful delivery of complex commercial or industrial construction projects. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a strong technical background in field operations, and a proven track record managing large-scale projects valued at over $30 million from groundbreaking to closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects meet schedule, scope, budget, and quality standards
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site personnel for efficient workflow and adherence to plans
- Enforce safety regulations, conduct daily safety meetings, and maintain compliance with company programs
- Serve as primary on-site liaison, providing clear communication between project management, design teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Identify and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on track
- Manage short-term schedules and coordinate timely delivery of materials and inspections
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including logs, reports, and change orders
- Monitor costs and assist in managing budgets, change orders, and potential overrun
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of construction experience, including at least 2 years as a superintendent or in a similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, building codes, and safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead and manage on-site teams, subcontractors, and trades
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Build, Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial and industrial projects; tilt-up construction experience a plus
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience managing projects over $30M in value
- Willing to travel within the state as needed
