Position Overview:
The Manual Machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts and components using manual lathes, horizontal boring mills, drill presses, and other shop equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Operate manual lathes and horizontal boring mill machines to produce precision parts.
- Utilize drill presses, grinders, sanders, and other shop equipment as required.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to meet exact specifications.
- Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.) to ensure accuracy and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist (not CNC).
- Proven ability to operate manual lathes and boring mills with accuracy.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Must supply own basic machining tools, including measuring instruments and dial indicators.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality are essential.
