Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated K-9 Security Officers to join our security team. This role involves working closely with trained K-9 units to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security operations, excellent observation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is highly valued. The position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to a secure environment while working alongside highly trained K-9 partners.
Applicants without prior K-9 Handling experience may enroll in our Patrol K-9 Handler Course.
Applicant Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years documented experience as a Security Officer
- Valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC)
- 20-Hour Basic Security Certificate
- Must love dogs/working with dogs
Preferred Qualifications
- Documented experience as a K-9 Handler
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, security operations, or related fields is preferred.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, and conflict management are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism.
Candidates Must Be Able To:
- Pass a drug screening
- Complete a psychological evaluation
- Undergo a thorough background check
- Pass a physical examination
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks.
- Observe activity and ensure safety protocols are maintained.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to disturbances, or emergencies
- Maintain detailed incident reports and logs of daily activities, security breaches, or unusual occurrences.
- Enforce company policies and safety regulations while managing conflict situations with professionalism and tact.
- Assist visitors and staff by providing directions or information while maintaining a secure environment.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during investigations or incidents as required.
- Conduct loss prevention activities to minimize theft or vandalism within the premises.
