Location: Edison, NJ
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Position Type: Temporary Assignment (June through October) with potential for temp-to-hire

Position Overview
ASW is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Edison, NJ. This position is responsible for preparing outbound shipments, processing shipping documentation, operating scanners and shipping systems, and assisting with warehouse operations to ensure products are shipped accurately and on time.
This assignment is expected to continue through October, with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare outbound shipments for customers and carriers.
- Scan products and packages using handheld scanners and shipping software.
- Generate and print shipping labels, packing slips, invoices, and related shipping documentation.
- Verify shipment information and ensure orders are shipped to the correct destination.
- Insert required paperwork into packages and properly label outgoing shipments.
- Seal, tape, and prepare cartons for shipment.
- Load packages onto conveyor systems for shipping operations.
- Move products and cartons using carts and other warehouse equipment.
- Assist with loading outbound carrier trucks, including FedEx shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Follow company procedures to ensure shipment accuracy and quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse shipping experience required.
- Experience using shipping software, scanners, and computer systems.
- Ability to process shipping paperwork, labels, invoices, and related documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Steel-toe boots are required for this position
- MUST have reliable transportation
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50-60 pounds as needed
- Ability to safely handle and move products in a warehouse environment.
