This textile manufacturer in the Burlington/Greensboro area seeks a Human Resources Generalist to join their HR Team.

POSITION SUMMARY: The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing the full cycle of recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS system maintenance, and employee retention. This position requires a detail-oriented and people-focused professional who can develop and implement effective HR strategies to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates through proactive sourcing and networking.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure new employees have the tools and resources they need to succeed.
- Develop and implement employee retention strategies to reduce turnover and increase job satisfaction.
- Conduct regular check-ins and stay interviews to understand employee needs and concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through various initiatives and programs.
- Conduct exit interviews, report personnel issues, and resolve personnel matters, as appropriate or assigned
- Assist in drafting and updating the company's policies, procedures and standards under a supervisor's oversight.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of the company's benefit programs and assist employees as needed in enrollment, communicate with vendors, resolve billing issues, and make recommendations for change to the Director of HR.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all Human Resources issues and records.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of a bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or similar program required.
- 5 years of progressive Human Resources position, with a substantial portion of it in a manufacturing operation.
- Strong knowledge and experience with HRIS systems, preferably with ADP Workforce Now
- Experience in providing value added HR coaching, guidance, thought leadership, and HR business partnership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or SHRM certification preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and practices.
- Technically sound in Human Resources fundamentals and best practices and the application of them in manufacturing operations.
- Broad knowledge of safety, training and development, employee relations, performance management, and organizational planning.
- Working knowledge of benefits and compensation programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job is conducted in an office environment with frequent computer use requiring manual dexterity.
- Must have normal or corrected hearing and vision.
- Responsibilities may occasionally require adjusted work schedules, overtime and weekend hours to meet deadlines.
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel locally with reliable transportation.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
LANGUAGE/COMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Conversational proficiency in Spanish is a plus for this position.
- Must have the skill set to create materials and make presentations to professional staff.
- Must effectively communicate with all levels of the workforce, applicants and vendors.
