Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization’s financial integrity. Your expertise will help streamline financial processes, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall health of our financial operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar systems.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and review general ledger activity for discrepancies or anomalies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, and assist with audit preparations.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills to generate reports, perform variance analysis, and support financial decision-making.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness in all accounting tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with financial systems like Paychex, Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting practices; experience with SOX compliance is a plus.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with the ability to perform detailed data entry and spreadsheet analysis using Microsoft Office tools like Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset to collaborate effectively across teams.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
