Greenerprinter is a growing commercial printing company and Certified B Corp in the Bay Area. We make high-quality print work the right way — sustainably, and with a team that takes real pride in the craft. We're on a strong growth trajectory, heading from roughly $7M toward $10M+ in revenue.
We're looking for a Plant Manager to run the operation. This is an unusually senior, high-autonomy role: you'll own day-to-day command of the entire business — the floor, the team, the customers, and the numbers. If you've run an operation and you're looking for the autonomy, ownership, and upside of effectively running a company — without starting one from scratch — this is that role.
This is a rare chance to run a healthy, growing business with real autonomy and a genuine ownership stake. You'll inherit a capable team and a strong brand, and share directly in the value you help build.
This is a hands-on, walk-the-floor role. You'll spend most of your day on the production floor and in the shop — not behind a desk.
What you'll own
You'll be responsible for the whole operation, leading an established management team across every function:
- Production — oversee planning, scheduling, and floor execution through a Facilities & Scheduling Manager and a Production Supervisor. You'll personally own high-level production planning and capacity scheduling.
- Customer service — lead the CSR team and manager; protect on-time delivery, quality, and key-account health.
- Estimating and pricing — oversee the estimating team and make the call on large or complex quotes, balancing capacity, margin, and turnaround.
- Prepress, finance, and HR — partner with the function leads who own prepress, the books, and people operations.
- Hiring and team building — interview and make hiring decisions, and develop the bench so the business gets stronger and deeper over time.
- Continuous improvement — own the systems, SOPs, and operating rhythm that keep the shop running smoothly and scaling cleanly.
What success looks like
- First 90 days: you know the team, the floor, the customers, and how a job flows from quote to delivery; you're running the daily and weekly rhythm.
- Six months: the floor hits its targets through your leadership, you're handling escalations and crises independently, and you're managing to margin.
- Twelve months and beyond: the business runs on solid systems, the team is deep and accountable, and the operation runs smoothly under your command.
Who you are
- You've run an operation. You've been the person ultimately responsible for a plant, a site, a division, or a company — carrying the outcome, not just managing a team.
- You're a strong operations and production planner. You can build capacity and scheduling, not just react to it — you think weeks ahead, not just about today.
- You're calm under pressure. You've handled the week where a key customer, a cash crunch, and a machine breakdown all hit at once — and kept it together.
- You build people up. You develop your team and make yourself replaceable, rather than holding all the knowledge yourself.
- You want autonomy and accountability. You're energized, not unnerved, by being the person the buck stops with.
- You're financially fluent. You read a P&L, understand what drives cost and margin, and make decisions accordingly.
Commercial print or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required — we can teach you print. Operational command and judgment are what we can't teach, and what we're really hiring for.
