Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of industrial machinery to ensure optimal production efficiency and quality. Your expertise in mechanical systems, automation, and precision measurement will be essential in supporting our manufacturing processes, especially within plastics production environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, robotic systems, and precision tools while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards.
**Schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4pm. Pay is $25-$27/hr depending on experience.
Working 40 hours with the possibility of Overtime.
Must be Bilingual. ( Eng & Spa)**
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various manufacturing machines including plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion equipment, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and robotic systems to meet production targets.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operation.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to adjust machine settings and optimize performance.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and dimensional measurements to verify product specifications meet quality standards.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in assembly processes and perform basic machining tasks using hand tools and measurement tools for precision work.
- Document machine performance data, maintenance activities, and quality control results accurately for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience with plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion processes or plastics production is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating CNC machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and robotic systems.
- Familiarity with industrial troubleshooting techniques for mechanical, electrical, or automation issues.
- Ability to use measurement (quality control) tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments including proper use of hand tools and forklift operation certification preferred.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments are essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an engineering troubleshooting mindset to quickly identify issues and implement solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
