The Hardin County Family YMCA in Kenton, OH is seeking a Membership Assistant to join our team.
20-25 hours per week. Daytime and evening hours. Can discuss at interview.
Pay Rate:
$13 per hour depending on experience
General Function:
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Membership Assistant will oversee membership. She/he is responsible for training, working the front desk, and clerical and other related tasks which are necessary for all Program Directors/Departments to effectively and efficiently carry out their work. The Membership Assistant will work in cooperation with all member service staff serving as a customer service representative, providing scheduling and supervising of desk staff, and resolving other service-related issues. He/She will also greet and supply members and potential members with membership and program information.
Qualifications:
- Must have related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three or more years of secretarial and/or office administration.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Initiative, creativity, flexibility.
- Must be computer efficient. Ability to use word processing, Excel spreadsheets, Power Point and/or Publisher software.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates arrangements for meetings of various committees and groups.
- Assists all program departments when necessary by typing correspondence.
- Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating customer service staff.
- Assist to schedule customer service staff to ensure proper coverage to meet customer needs.
- Maintain lists for telephone extensions and mail information.
- Assists with meeting notices, calling all individuals attending meetings, and following up on all items and materials before meetings.
- Drafts, prepares and proofs correspondence.
- Maintains numerous computer databases for various reports and mailings for the different departments.
- Plans, schedules and assists in specialized projects.
- Represents the YMCA and maintains its relationships with kindred organizations in the community.
- Assists the Leadership Team at the YMCA.
- Develop a complete understanding of all YMCA programs, activities and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
