Position Overview
RES Success is seeking an experienced and compassionate Program Manager to oversee our Ferry Street and Las Juntas day programs in Martinez, California.
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the programs and ensuring that individuals receiving services are supported in a safe, person-centered, respectful, and engaging environment.
Working closely with Assistant Managers, Support Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and the Director of Program Operations, the Program Manager provides leadership and oversight to ensure appropriate staffing, quality services, regulatory compliance, employee development, and effective program operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The Program Manager should be comfortable supporting employees on the program floor and providing direct support to individuals attending the programs when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Ferry Street and Las Juntas programs.
- Supervise, support, coach, and develop Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and floor coverage to maintain the safety and wellbeing of the people we serve.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and person-centered workplace culture.
- Ensure employees are providing services consistent with each individual's needs, goals, ISP, and support plans.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, training, and performance management to employees.
- Ensure staff follow Pro-ACT principles and other required support practices.
- Collaborate with Support Coordinators and other program leadership regarding services and individual support needs.
- Communicate professionally with families, Regional Center representatives, residential providers, ILS/SLS providers, and other members of individuals' circles of support.
- Oversee completion of required documentation, including daily notes, semi-annual reports, mileage documentation, incident reports, and other program records.
- Ensure Special Incident Reports and Abuse/Neglect Reports are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Oversee medication storage, administration, and documentation in accordance with licensing and safety requirements.
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing program staff.
- Participate in prospective participant meetings and assessments in collaboration with the Intake and Support teams.
- Ensure program facilities and vehicles are clean, safe, maintained, and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Monitor program supplies, resources, and operational needs.
- Assist leadership with documentation and compliance requirements related to Community Care Licensing (CCL), Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
- Oversee program spending and operate within the approved program budget.
- Facilitate staff meetings and participate in leadership, planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide direct support to individuals attending the programs when necessary to ensure adequate coverage, safety, and continuity of services.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
Option A
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services field; and
- At least one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supervisory capacity.
OR
Option B
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- At least four years of experience directly supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and
- At least one year of supervisory or management experience within the human services delivery system.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Experience supervising and developing employees in a human services or developmental disabilities setting.
- Knowledge of person-centered services and practices.
- Knowledge of CCL, DDS, RCEB, OSHA, and applicable employment and workplace requirements.
- Experience with Special Incident Reporting and mandated abuse reporting procedures.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, employees, and program needs simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and address employee performance concerns.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Workspace, Adobe PDF, and other workplace technology.
- Ability to adapt to changing program needs and priorities.
- Strong judgment and commitment to confidentiality.
- Collaborative, team-oriented leadership style.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must successfully complete all required background/security clearances.
- Must meet required health screening and agency compliance requirements.
- Must maintain current First Aid certification or complete training provided/arranged by RES Success.
- Must successfully complete all training and compliance requirements associated with the position.
Compensation
Starting Pay: $34.00–$36.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week.
