K-1 Guide Assistant

Arise Christian Academy is seeking a caring, energetic, and faith-driven K-1 Guide Assistant to support our youngest learners in a unique hybrid indoor/outdoor learning environment. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children, enjoys being outdoors, and desires to help students grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
At Arise, we believe learning should be active, engaging, and meaningful. Our K-1 students spend part of their day completing foundational math and reading activities and the remainder of their day participating in teacher-led instruction, hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, and real-world learning experiences.
The Guide Assistant works alongside the K-1 Guide to help create a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Support the K-1 Guide in daily classroom activities and instruction
- Assist students individually and in small groups
- Help facilitate hands-on projects, outdoor activities, and learning experiences
- Supervise students during transitions, outdoor learning, lunch, and other activities
- Encourage positive behavior and help maintain a productive learning environment
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and cleanup
- Support students in developing independence, responsibility, and problem-solving skills
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Help create a joyful and engaging learning environment

Qualifications
- Demonstrates a personal Christian faith and supports the mission of Arise Christian Academy
- Loves working with young children
- Enjoys outdoor learning and hands-on activities
- Patient, positive, and nurturing
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organized, dependable, and flexible
- Experience working with children preferred
- Experience in education, childcare, church ministry, or related fields preferred
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Schedule & Benefits
- Students attend in person Monday through Thursday and work remotely on Fridays
- Unique calendar featuring five six-week learning blocks throughout the year, followed by a one-week break between blocks; staff work two days during break weeks and enjoy the remaining time off
- Three weeks off at Christmas
- Two weeks off during Spring Break/Easter
