Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and other required evaluations.
- Identify client strengths, needs, symptoms, risks, and treatment priorities.
- Develop individualized, measurable, and clinically appropriate treatment plans.
- Review and update treatment plans based on client progress and changing needs.
- Complete diagnostic evaluations within the clinician’s scope of practice.
- Make clinically appropriate treatment recommendations and referrals.
Therapeutic Services:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy when clinically appropriate.
- Use evidence-based, person-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.
- Establish and maintain professional therapeutic relationships.
- Monitor client participation, functioning, progress, and response to treatment.
- Adjust interventions as necessary to address client needs and treatment goals.
- Educate and support clients and families regarding behavioral health needs and available resources.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries in all client interactions.
Crisis and Risk Management:
- Assess clients for safety concerns, including the risk of harm to themselves or others.
- Develop and update safety plans when clinically appropriate.
- Respond to behavioral health crises according to agency policies and professional standards.
- Notify clinical leadership and appropriate emergency resources when immediate safety concerns are identified.
- Document crisis interventions, notifications, safety concerns, and follow-up actions.
- Follow all applicable mandated-reporting requirements.
Clinical Documentation:
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required records accurately and within established timeframes.
- Ensure documentation supports the services provided and meets clinical, licensing, regulatory, and agency standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records.
- Address documentation corrections promptly.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of client information.
- Participate in documentation reviews, audits, and quality-improvement activities.
Care Coordination:
- Collaborate with clients, families, agency staff, healthcare professionals, referral sources, and community partners.
- Coordinate services and referrals based on identified client needs.
- Participate in treatment-team meetings and clinical consultations.
- Obtain appropriate authorization before sharing protected information.
- Connect clients and families with appropriate behavioral health, medical, educational, and community resources.
- Support continuity of care during referrals, transitions, and discharge planning.
Professional and Ethical Standards:
The Licensed Clinician is a visible representative of Arbor Care Solutions and is expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and clinical practice.
The clinician will:
- Maintain an active professional license in good standing.
- Practice within their education, training, competence, and authorized scope.
- Follow applicable laws, regulations, ethical codes, licensing-board requirements, and agency policies.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families, employees, and community partners.
- Demonstrate courtesy, respect, cultural awareness, and sound clinical judgment.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
- Protect confidential client, employee, and agency information.
- Report ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, safety concerns, and suspected policy violations.
- Represent Arbor Care Solutions professionally in the office and community.
Performance Expectation: The Licensed Clinician must consistently provide ethical, professional, timely, and clinically appropriate services. Failure to maintain licensing, documentation, confidentiality, professional-boundary, or clinical-performance standards may result in corrective action.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Required Licensure:
Candidates must possess one of the following current, unrestricted North Carolina licenses:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
The license must remain active and in good standing throughout employment. This opening is specifically intended for independently licensed clinicians.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience completing behavioral health assessments and treatment plans.
- Experience providing therapeutic services to individuals and families.
- Experience managing behavioral health crises and completing safety plans.
- Experience coordinating care with other providers and community partners.
- Experience using an electronic health record system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses and evidence-based practices.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, safety planning, and mandated reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Work Schedule:
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday. Evening, weekend, travel, or other scheduling responsibilities may apply depending on the selected assignment and organizational needs.
