We are seeking a highly efficient, adaptable, and motivated Certified Surgical Technologist for a per diem position at our Ambulatory Surgery Center.
In this role, you will serve as the primary scrub technologist, maintaining a rigid sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgeon during fast-paced outpatient procedures.
Because this is a per diem role in an ASC environment, the ideal candidate possesses exceptional clinical intuition across multiple ambulatory specialties, requires minimal orientation, and thrives in a high-turnover, team-oriented setting.
Intra-Operative & Scrub Duties
- Sterile Field Management: Prepare, organize, and maintain the sterile field using strict aseptic technique.
- Surgeon Anticipation: Pass instrumentation, equipment, and supplies to the surgical team accurately and efficiently, anticipating needs to minimize procedure time.
- Safety Counts: Perform precise surgical counts (sponges, sharps, and instruments) with the Circulating RN according to facility policy.
- Specimen Care: Safely handle, identify, and hand off surgical specimens to the circulator for proper labeling.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification: Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent, independent scrubbing experience, preferably within an ASC or high-volume outpatient setting.
- Specialty Familiarity: Experience in common ambulatory specialties is highly preferred (e.g., Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, Ophthalmology, GI, Pain Management, General Surgery, or ENT).
- Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
