Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Medical Assistant / Office Coordinator to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple senior care facilities. This floater role is assigned to different locations based on daily and weekly operational needs, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and strong provider support.
Key Responsibilities
Floater / Multi-Site Coverage
Provide coverage at various partner facilities based on staffing needs (including planned coverage and short-notice call-outs).
Adapt quickly to each site's workflow and team while maintaining consistent standards for patient experience, documentation, and professionalism.
Coordinate with clinical leadership and facility contacts regarding schedule changes, daily priorities, and any operational issues that impact patient care.
Travel between sites as assigned; schedule and location may vary by day/week.
Clinical Support
Greet and prepare patients for exams; obtain and record vital signs and update medical histories.
Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures as needed.
Support lab workflows, including specimen collection/handling per protocol (as applicable).
Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam areas; follow infection-control and safety standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements at all times.
Administrative / Office Coordination
Coordinate patient scheduling, patient flow, and day-to-day office communications.
Manage phone calls, messages, and follow-ups to ensure timely communication with patients and facility partners.
Accurately document in the EMR/EHR and maintain organized patient records.
Order and track medical and office supplies; ensure rooms and work areas are consistently stocked.
Support adherence to office policies and procedures and help keep workflow running smoothly.
Qualifications
Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting required; experience in senior care settings is a plus.
Medical Assistant certification or formal training preferred (or equivalent hands-on clinical experience).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered service.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple locations as assigned.
Flexible, dependable, and comfortable working independently in new environments.
Compensation & Benefits
$23-$25/hour, based on experience.
