Guest Services Attendant
Location: South New Berlin, New York
Position Type: Seasonal / 30-40 hours / Weekend Focus: Fridays – Sundays
Season: May through November
Reports To: Event Director & Guest Services Coordinator
Compensation: $20/hour
Position Overview
Gilbertsville Farmhouse is a premier, high-end hospitality resort specializing in luxury weddings and private events. We are seeking energetic, professional, and hardworking Guest Services Attendants to join our front-of-house team.
As a Guest Services Attendant, you are the face of the estate during our peak event days. Working directly under the leadership of our Event Director and our Guest Services Coordinator, you will execute the ground-level logistics that make our guests feel welcomed, cared for, and seamlessly guided throughout their stay. From driving guest shuttles and assisting with luggage to supporting event setups and maintaining property aesthetics, you are the essential engine of our 5-star guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Arrival & Guest Check-In Logistics
- Warm Welcomes: Greet arriving guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm, establishing an immediate high-touch luxury atmosphere.
- Luggage & Transport Assistance: Safely assist guests with loading, unloading, and transporting luggage across the estate to their designated lodging accommodations.
- Shuttle & Golf Cart Operations: Safely operate resort golf carts and passenger shuttles to transport guests, elderly visitors, and VIPs across property grounds.
2. Property Readiness & Hospitality Support
- Aesthetic Maintenance: Maintain a constant "hospitality eye" across public guest areas—picking up stray debris, keeping pathways clear, and ensuring seating areas are clean and stage-ready.
- Event Support: Assist with setup and breakdown of guest amenities, fire pits, lawn games, and outdoor hospitality stations as directed by leadership.
- Guest Concierge: Answer guest questions regarding property layouts, schedule of events, and resort amenities with confidence and courtesy.
3. Teamwork & Professional Conduct
- Chain of Command: Take direct daily instruction from the Guest Services Coordinator and work collaboratively with fellow attendants and runners.
- Brand Representation: Maintain a pristine personal appearance, adhering strictly to the company dress code and professional grooming standards.
- Policy Compliance: Adhere strictly to all resort rules, safety protocols, and operational procedures at all times.
What Success Looks Like
- Flawless Guest Feedback: Guests routinely comment on how helpful, polite, and welcoming the guest services staff were during their stay.
- Punctual & Smooth Logistics: Check-ins run on time, luggage arrives at rooms promptly, and shuttle transports flow without bottlenecks or delay.
- Proactive Energy: You don't wait to be told what to do—when there is downtime, you are checking guest areas, straightening furniture, and asking leadership how you can support the team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, resort operations, or high-end event execution is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
- People Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, a warm smile, and a natural service-first mindset.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs), stay on your feet for long shifts, and work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Reliability: Absolute punctuality and dependable weekend availability (Friday – Sunday) are non-negotiable.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and own transportation.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
