**Our Client has a permanent (direct hire) position in Lapeer.
This company is a growing Tier One and Two automotive supplier specializing in Class A automotive components. They are seeking an experienced Materials Production Scheduler / Production Control Manager / Plant Scheduler to lead production scheduling, inventory management, and material planning while ensuring uninterrupted production and on-time customer delivery.
This position plays a critical role in coordinating production, purchasing, shipping, and manufacturing operations to optimize inventory, maximize efficiency, and meet customer requirements.
Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Analyze customer releases, forecasts, and production requirements.
Plan production capacity based on labor, equipment, and material availability.
Manage raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
Maintain accurate inventory records using the ERP/MRP system.
Monitor inventory levels and establish appropriate minimum and maximum stocking levels.
Coordinate inventory cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Provide accurate production and inventory data to support manufacturing operations.
Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely receipt of raw materials.
Expedite late materials that could impact production or customer deliveries.
Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to maintain proper inventory flow.
Monitor warehouse inventory and inventory transactions.
Prepare and distribute production schedules to manufacturing departments.
Monitor schedule adherence and adjust production plans to meet changing customer demands.
Analyze production performance and recommend process improvements.
Maintain inventory accuracy and reduce inventory obsolescence.
Track inventory transfers, adjustments, and disposals.
Generate inventory, scheduling, and production reports for management.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and company procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, scheduling efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, production control, materials planning, or inventory management within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems required.
Knowledge of Tier One automotive manufacturing preferred.
Understanding of customer release systems and production scheduling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchasing, Quality, Shipping, and Customer Service.
