Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman
Harrington Construction & Development LLC (HCD) is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman to immediately join our growing residential construction team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced carpenter who is ready for more responsibility, independence, and the opportunity to play an important role in the growth of a local construction company.
We're looking for someone who can work alongside the crew while also helping lead the job—someone who understands the big picture, thinks ahead, communicates well, and can keep a project moving without needing constant direction.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality residential carpentry and construction work
- Help lead and organize a small field crew
- Take ownership of assigned projects and daily objectives
- Plan ahead for materials, tools, equipment, and upcoming work
- Layout, measure, cut, frame, install, and finish accurately
- Identify problems and help develop practical solutions
- Communicate project needs and progress with the owner
- Maintain clean, organized, professional jobsites
- Help ensure work meets HCD quality standards
- Professionally represent HCD around homeowners and customers
Experience We're Looking For
Strong residential construction experience in several of the following areas:
- Framing
- Additions and renovations
- Deck construction
- Siding and exterior work
- Roofing
- Window and door installation
- Interior and exterior trim
- Drywall and remodeling
- General residential construction
Previous experience as a Lead Carpenter, Crew Leader, Foreman, or similar position is strongly preferred.
You should be comfortable working independently, directing other employees when needed, and determining the next steps necessary to keep a project moving.
The Person We're Looking For
Experience matters, but so does the person behind it.
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in their craftsmanship
- Is dependable and shows up ready to work
- Works efficiently and with purpose
- Thinks ahead and sees the bigger picture
- Communicates clearly
- Takes responsibility for their work
- Treats tools and equipment with respect
- Maintains a clean and organized jobsite
- Works well with others
- Is comfortable taking the lead when necessary
- Conducts themselves professionally around customers
- Wants to grow with a company rather than simply find another job
We don't expect one person to know everything. We do expect honesty about your abilities, a strong construction foundation, good judgment, and a willingness to learn anything you haven't encountered before.
