St. Paul of the Cross, Passionist Spiritual Retreat Center is seeking a Director of Maintenance responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance and upkeep within our facilities. You will lead all maintenance activities, coordinate maintenance schedules, and ensure that all facilities are operating efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and supervise all maintenance activities.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure timely and efficient upkeep of facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to operations.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, safety considerations, and operational needs.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
Facility Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all facilities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address safety concerns promptly.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting expenses and allocating resources effectively.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize maintenance expenditures without compromising quality or safety.
Documentation/Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inspection reports.
- Generate regular reports on maintenance performance, budget variance, and key performance indicators (KPls) for management review.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance management or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.

- Physical ability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and operating maintenance equipment.
