Job Summary
The Maintenance Utility – Baghouse Systems is responsible for the operation, inspection, cleaning, repair, and preventive maintenance of baghouse dust collection systems within the foundry. This role ensures optimal system performance, compliance with environmental regulations, and a safe, clean working environment. The position supports production by minimizing downtime related to air filtration and dust control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of baghouse systems, including fans, ductwork,
hoppers, rotary valves, screw conveyors, and compressed air components
- Monitor differential pressure gauges and system performance to identify maintenance needs
- Change, repair, and properly install filter bags and cages as required
- Clean hoppers, ducting, and surrounding areas to prevent buildup and blockages
- Identify leaks, worn components, or structural issues and perform repairs or report findings

- Assist with troubleshooting baghouse malfunctions and system inefficiencies
- Perform preventive maintenance per established schedules and manufacturer
recommendations
- Ensure proper disposal of collected dust and waste materials according to company and
environmental guidelines
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders
- Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and PPE
requirements
- Support other maintenance or utility duties as assigned throughout the facility
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or foundry environment preferred
- Experience working with baghouses, dust collection systems, or air filtration equipment strongly
preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to read gauges, diagrams, and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and environmental compliance standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work assigned shifts, including overtime, weekends, or shutdown periods
as needed
