A physical therapist is responsible for developing and applying physical therapy modalities, providing therapeutic, exercise and functional training with ADLs
Provides gait and balance training using specific equipment
Documents progress, developing patient/resident program modifications
Assists with evaluative techniques, participating in care planning, and other duties to enhance the health and quality of life of the residents
Requirments
New York State Physical Therapist Licensure
CPR Certification
Physical strengths to lift between 50-100lbs
Able to collaborate with a wide range of health care disciplines, as well as offer insight to patients and families
Possess thorough knowledge of the education and therapeutic values of occupational therapy, as well as the procedures and principles of administration, organization and management
Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
