We are seeking an team of staff to launch a new afterschool program on the Winston Prouty Campus! In partnership with the Aftershool program coordinator, the program staff will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during their after-school hours.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children in a structured after-school setting, ensuring safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
- Assist with homework support or tutoring as needed
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop age-appropriate activities
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding children's daily experiences
- Follow all health, safety, and first aid protocols, including CPR and AED procedures when necessary
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive environment
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and families
- Prior experience in daycare, babysitting, sports coaching, theater, or tutoring is beneficial
The program will run weekdays when school is in session from 3:00pm-6:00pm. The position is for 20 hours/week with a daily shift of 2:30-6:30pm.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
