Position Summary
- The Project Engineer supports the project team in planning, documentation, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- This role helps maintain schedule, budget tracking, subcontractor coordination, document control, quality compliance, and communication between the field, office, design team, owner, and trade partners.
- The Project Engineer is typically an entry-level to early-career project management role and works under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project startup, buyout, and subcontractor onboarding.
- Manage document control, including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, and revision logs.
- Prepare, track, and distribute RFIs, submittals, and procurement logs.
- Maintain meeting minutes, action item logs, and project correspondence.
- Support schedule updates by collecting progress information from the field and trade partners.
- Assist with change management, including pricing requests, change event tracking, change order logs, and supporting documentation.
- Help prepare owner pay applications, subcontractor payment reviews, lien waiver collection, and cost tracking backup.
- Coordinate material deliveries, long-lead procurement status, and vendor follow-up.
- Support quality control processes, punch lists, mockups, inspections, and closeout documentation.
- Assist with permit tracking, utility coordination, testing, special inspections, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records in project management software such as Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar tools.
- Support closeout efforts, including O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, training records, and final completion documentation.
- Interface with the Superintendent to align field progress with project documentation and office controls.
- Communicate professionally with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Perform other project support duties as assigned.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
