Townsend Automotive Demopolis is seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to join our leadership team. We are looking for a proven automotive professional who can lead people, desk deals, manage inventory, and help drive the continued growth of our dealership.
This is a hands-on management position with significant responsibility and opportunity. The right candidate will be competitive, accountable, process-driven, and comfortable working directly with both the sales team and customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and hold the sales team accountable
- Desk and structure retail and finance deals
- Work deals with sales consultants to maximize volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction
- Manage CRM activity, leads, appointments, follow-up, and daily sales processes
- Assist with used vehicle acquisition, appraisal, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management
- Monitor aging inventory and help maintain appropriate inventory turn
- Recruit, onboard, and develop sales professionals
- Conduct daily sales meetings and training
- Ensure customers receive a professional and transparent buying experience
- Work directly with dealership leadership on sales goals, inventory strategy, and overall store performance
- Maintain high standards for compliance, professionalism, and accountability
Requirements
- 3+ years of automotive retail experience REQUIRED
- Automotive sales management, F&I, or other dealership leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of automotive deal structure and desking
- Experience using dealership CRM and DMS systems
- Understanding of used vehicle inventory, appraisals, and pricing
- Proven ability to coach and motivate a sales team
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work a retail automotive schedule, including Saturdays
