Position Summary: Hatco is looking for a technician who supports daily plant operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and facility systems. This role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. The technician ensures equipment uptime, supports production goals, and contributes to a reliable, efficient manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to reduce downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to identify root causes of failures.
- Repair motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, sensors, valves, and related components.
- Work with electrical systems, replace components, and assist with control system troubleshooting.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment status in logs.
- Assist with installation of new machinery, running utilities, and supporting equipment upgrades.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with effective problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and regulators.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid schematics.
- Basic machine shop skills using mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to production needs.
Physical Demands:
· High School Diploma/GED or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
· 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or related technical field.
· Working knowledge of PLC components such as relays, and sensors.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
· Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with noise and physical activity
Preferred Qualifications:
· Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field
· Experience with CMMS systems
· Exposure to boiler, burner, or steam systems
· Intermediate machining skills
