The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role provides hands-on leadership to production staff, coordinates workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Lead serves as a key point of contact between team members and management, ensuring smooth operations and achievement of production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety:
- Prioritizes safety above all else. Demonstrates a high level of awareness for Safety and potential job hazards. Ensure all safety protocols are followed by employees.
- Participates in the Safety Team and works closely with other leaders to constantly improve the safety practices and policies of the company.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations. Follows and complies with local laws and regulations relating to environmental safety.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production schedules and customer demands.
- Lead, coach, and motivate production team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and operational efficiency are maintained.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide quick resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, equipment performance, and shift activities.
- Communicate goals, expectations, and feedback to team members in a clear and professional manner.
- Partner with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and equipment availability.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing workplace safety.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations consistently.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations management, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and quality systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles preferred.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations management, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and occasional temperature variations..
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overtime, depending on production needs.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
