Responsibilities
- Operate a wide range of radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and nuclear medicine procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination
- Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging procedures
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations by capturing clear images necessary for accurate interpretation by radiologists and physicians
- Support emergency medicine and level I trauma center activities by providing rapid imaging services in urgent situations
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment usage in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care during interventional radiology procedures and other complex diagnostics
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT scanners, fluoroscopy units, mammography machines, DEXA scanners, PET scan systems, or nuclear medicine devices
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols in clinical settings
- Prior experience working in urgent care environments or level I trauma centers is highly desirable
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in emergency room settings or during interventional radiology procedures
- Certification or licensure as required by local health authorities for radiologic technologists
