Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, stoves, ovens, and mixers
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Follow food safety procedures diligently during food handling, storage, and meal preparation
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food handling procedures
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff
- Culinary experience that demonstrates attention to detail, recipe adherence, and meal presentation standards
