Title: Safe Kids Pennsylvania State Office Coordinator

ORGANIZATION & POSITION SUMMARY
About Safe Kids Pennsylvania:
Safe Kids Pennsylvania (SKPA), led by the American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division (ATSPA), is dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries and deaths throughout the state of PA.
SKPA promotes and supports childhood injury prevention activities through education, collaboration, and advocacy throughout Pennsylvania. SKPA is one of many statewide coalitions under Safe Kids Worldwide.
Reporting to the ATSPA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Safe Kids PA State Office Coordinator partners with Safe Kids Worldwide and provides support to Safe Kids Pennsylvania coalitions and partners of the state to reduce unintentional childhood injuries and death. This position leads the State Office of SKPA and is ultimately responsible for all State Office efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning
- In partnership with ATSPA CEO, leads development of work statements, project budgets, strategy plans, and other program deliverables based on community assessments and analysis of unintentional injury data
- Researches and compiles relevant resources, including educational materials, toolkits, and best practices, to support child safety initiatives
- Identifies and analyzes sources for local, regional and statewide data regarding significant child injury risks
- In partnership with ATSPA CEO, provides direct supervision to SKPA State Office Associate and oversees the review of all project deliverables prior to submission or implementation
Coordination
- Serves as the primary liaison between Safe Kids Worldwide and SKPA coalitions, including attending meetings and conferences, disseminating information, monitoring coalition compliance with federal and state rules as well as expectations from Safe Kids Worldwide, and other relevant duties
- Coordinates the development of Safe Kids PA Coalitions in conjunction with Safe Kids Worldwide program priorities, and the development of new and current partner of the state groups within PA
- Establishes and maintains partnerships with coalitions, partners of the state, government agencies, and other community organizations
- Gathers data and feedback from coordinators of SKPA coalitions and partners of the state, to further support their outreach efforts , and documents the data as necessary
Financial
- In partnership with ATSPA CEO, prepares the annual SKPA budget alongside other required documentation for Safe Kids PA unintentional childhood injury prevention programs, and ensures all required documentation is submitted in a timely manner
- Oversees SKPA State Office Associate in resource identification and allocation, to support efforts of local SKPA groups
- Provides final review and support of the SKPA mini grant passthrough funding initiative
Public Relations/Outreach
- Represents SKPA at national, statewide, and local meetings, events, task forces, and/or committees that relate to childhood injury prevention
- Oversees website and social media moderation and content creation
- Oversees advocacy efforts and media outreach
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from accredited college/university required
- 3 years’ experience in educational program management required; experience with injury prevention programming preferred
- Dedication to evidence-informed or evidence-based injury prevention work, and a commitment to ending health disparities and promoting health equity
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Integrity, passion, idealism, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
SALARY:
$45,000.00 to $50,000.00 per year; commensurate with education and experience; determined via the most up-to-date salary market analyses
