Job Description
Core Fiber is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Installation & Repair (I&R) Technician I or II at our Loveland, CO office. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, activating, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential and small business internet and voice services. As the front-line representative of our company in customers’ homes and businesses, you will ensure services are installed correctly, operating reliably, and delivered with exceptional customer care. This position offers an opportunity to build foundational technical skills while supporting the continued growth and reliability of our fiber and fixed wireless network.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Complete end-to-end installations, including drop installation, termination, and activation.
- Troubleshoot basic fiber and wireless network issues, escalating more complex problems to senior technicians or leads.
- Configure customer networks: routers, Wi-Fi extenders, and connected devices; educate customers on network use.
- Accurately document all work in company systems, including photo logs and job notes for quality assurance.
- Work collaboratively with the local team, including other technicians and contractors, to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Maintain inventory of installation materials, tools, and equipment, reporting any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols, use PPE, and maintain a neat, professional appearance on all jobs.
- Meet or exceed service metrics, including first-time-right installation, on-time arrival, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle escalated service issues outside of standard business hours.
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Prior experience in fiber optic installation, telecommunications, or related field is preferred.
- Strong technical skills and ability to use various tools and equipment for fiber optic installations.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Solid understanding of fiber optic networks, terminations, connectors, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for fiber optic installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time and priorities effectively.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations within the designated local markets.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,398.00 - $58,298.00 per year
