We are in search of a CNC Programmer in South Windsor, CT who has expertise in developing, refining, and managing CNC programs for precise manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical knowledge of machining procedures, CAD/CAM software, and the capability to boost productivity while upholding top-tier quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Generate, modify, and refine CNC programs for mills and multi-axis machines
- Decipher engineering sketches, blueprints, and CAD models
- Choose suitable tooling, cutting techniques, and machine parameters
- Prepare and validate new programs on CNC machinery
- Troubleshoot machining problems and suggest enhancements to processes
- Work closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams
- Ensure that all programs meet quality criteria and specifications
- Manage organized program records and version control
- Adhere to all safety measures and company regulations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles
- Understanding of different materials (metals, plastics, alloys)
- Familiarity with tooling design and fixturing
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Education and Experience:
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming
- Competency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Creo, Windchill, and Vericut)
- Thorough understanding of G-code and M-code programming
- Preference for experience with multi-axis machining
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
