Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and protect surfaces through skilled craftsmanship. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using various techniques including hand tools, brushes, rollers, conventional spray systems, and airless paint sprayers
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and color schemes to accurately execute project specifications
- Conduct surface assessments to determine the appropriate preparation methods for different materials such as stucco, masonry, drywall, or wood
- Perform restoration work on existing structures by removing old paint, repairing damaged surfaces, and matching colors through visual color comparison
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and fall prevention measures
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plasterers, and other tradespeople during renovation or remodeling projects to ensure seamless integration of painting with other construction activities
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Assist in estimating project costs related to materials and labor through construction estimating practices when needed
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting with a strong understanding of construction site procedures and safety regulations
- Knowledge of construction painting surface preparation techniques including plastering, caulking, sanding, and priming
- Skilled in commercial and industrial painting applications such as spray painting (including airless systems) on various surfaces
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics for precise project execution
- Hands-on experience with renovation projects involving framing carpentry, trim carpentry, fixture installation, stucco application, masonry work or concrete finishing is highly desirable
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely while maintaining high-quality standards
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paint quantities and surface areas
- Knowledge of safety protocols including respiratory protection equipment usage during spray applications or working in hazardous environments
- Previous construction site experience with a focus on restoration or remodeling projects is preferred
