Oskar's Slider Bar is looking for a Front of House Manager to aid in the overall production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards of the brand. We take great pride in our amazing food, incredible customer service and an overall stellar customer experience. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to keep a level head, be able to multitask and have excellent people skills. This position is more about people than it is administrative work. Responsibilities
- Work 45 hours per week and during peak times in the evenings and on weekends
- Set an example and go above and beyond in all things * Greet and advise customers, maintain superior customer service, handle customer disputes
- Ability to multitask, be aware of surroundings and anticipate needs of staff and upper management
- Assist employees to provide a higher-than-typical level of customer service and hospitality.
- Work to increase restaurant profitability
- Push specials and motivate/educate staff on specials
- Plan and execute events
- Create opportunities to generate profit by proposing Scandinavian-inspired themes * Recruit, train and supervise staff
- Continuing education and follow up training with staff * Scheduling and monitoring daily labor costs
- Manage employee productivity with a focus on morale and creating a pleasant work environment
- Be a reliable, consistent resource and leader for your team.
- Handle administrative tasks and paperwork
- Records and reports for all employees. * Inventory Management
- Maintain and ensure compliance to established food quality and standards
- Manage workload and ensure effective working of restaurant activities and maintain excellent standards to meet operational expectations
- Maintain a fun environment during busy/stressful times
- Coordinate with General Manager
- Be open to coaching on the Uffda way of doing things. Our methods are unique but they get results.
- Maintain proper sanitation, hygiene standards and maintain the restaurant presentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, must have HS diploma
- Must have at least 2 years management experience in a high volume, fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably one generating over $1mil in sales per year. Corporate is fine but must be willing to learn and adapt
- Proven customer service experience as a manager
- Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge
- Applicants with no bar experience will not be considered * Familiarity with restaurant management software. We use Team Work, Simple Order, Breadcrumb, Slack, Toast.
- Strong leadership, training, motivational and people skills
- Acute financial management skills
- Open to reading manager-suggested books, articles, websites, etc to better execute directives
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Valid driver's license and reliable, personal transportation
- Willing to submit to a criminal background check
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel occasionally
